Eligibility
Brewery Requirements
- 1The brewery must be fully licensed in its country to produce and commercially sell beer.
- 2The brewery must be operating with all required permits.
- 3The brewery must have at least one beer available for sale at retail at the time of registration.
- 4Only breweries that meet the brewery eligibility requirements may enter beers in KIBA.
* Breweries in planning, home-brewing facilities and other breweries that do not meet these criteria are not eligible.
Beer Requirements
- 1All beers registered for KIBA must be commercially available.
- 2Entries must have the characteristics generally regarded as “beer” and understood as beer by consumers.* At least 10% of the fermentable carbohydrates must be derived from malted grain. Beverages made from malt substitutes that are mostly fermentable sugars, such as honey, fruit or fruit juice, are not eligible.* Only beers containing hops are eligible. Gruit and other historical beer styles that traditionally use other herbs or spices are an exception.
- 3Under the Korean Liquor Tax Act, beer under 1% ABV is considered non-alcoholic beer.* Not eligible: Mead, cider, spirits, soft drinks, hard seltzer, and malt beverages containing kombucha, shandy or radler cannot be entered in KIBA.

A registration fee of USD 150 (VAT excluded) is charged when registering a brewery, and it includes the registration of one beer.

If you wish to register additional beers, an additional fee of USD 100 (VAT excluded) applies per beer, and there is no limit on the number of beers you can register.

No refunds will be given for cancellations or refund requests made after March 5, 2027.
Beer Categories
Entries are judged according to the World Beer Cup 2026 Guidelines (114 categories). Please review the guidelines and register your beer in the correct category. The KIBA Organizing Committee is not responsible for entries that do not conform to the style guidelines.

301. Korean Free-style Beer
Beer brewed with Korean agricultural products as a main or secondary ingredient. A category run exclusively by KIBA.
